Cannons

A cannon is an ancient weapon used to destroy ennemies attacking from long distances. the weapon launched different things along the timeline. one of the first inventions of cannons were cannon balls. they were used in ancient boats to destroy one another in a fiery attack. as well as the earth around us evolved, cannons evolved and become stronger and more dangerous. they launched bombs and explosing items which had heavy damage on targets. but in class we'er are creating a similar kind of cannon with a lighter and smaller objects launched.

1-Angle of launch!

I think that a cannon should be angled at a 45 degree angle which is exacly in the middle of 0 and 90 degrees. therefore the launched item will not go really high and not cover much distance nor will it immediatly hit the ground due to gravity.

2- Weight and shape of projectile!!!!

In our experiment, cannons will be fueled with ethanol, which is going to be our main source of energy reactant. but the amount of ethanol isn't enough to throw certain objects to long distances, therefore our projectile should be well shaped for aerodynamics and not too heavy. but also it shouldn't be too light because air friction will cause the projectile to fall.

3- Baffles!!!

To decide the shape of baffles i need i will first have to do some calculations to find the best shape to ensure a combustion. but i should try to make a good shape to retain heat to have efficient baffles.
